I am a Research Fellow at the Health Economics and Policy Unit (HEPU) within Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS). Prior to joining HEPU, I served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Economics, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan.
My primary research interest lies in the application of econometric methods within health economics and macroeconomics, with an emphasis on causal inference and policy evaluation. I am also interested in macroeconomic modelling, and time-series modelling within the macroeconomics domain.
My work has appeared in The B.E Journal of Macroeconomics, Empirical Economics, Estudios de Economia, Journal of Asian and African Economies, Health Research Policy and Systems, and Humanities & Social Sciences Communications.
In 2023, my PhD Dissertation won the Best Doctoral Thesis Award from the Taiwan Economics Association.
Research Interests
Substantive: Health Economics, Macroeconomics; Environmental Economics; Applied Econometrics; Policy Evaluation.
Methodological: Causal Inference; Quasi-experimental Methods; Matrix Completion; Synthetic Control Methods.
Teaching Interests
I am particularly interested in teaching Health Economics, and Macroeconomics courses at both graduate and undergraduate level. My secondary teaching fields of interest include: Applied Econometrics, International Finance, and Money & Banking. Indeed, I have 3+ years experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the two latter courses.
